Bonemat is mainly developed and maintained by the Bioengineering and Computing Laboratory (BIC) of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute (Bologna, Italy). The key people that contributed to versions v3.1 and v3.2 of the software are:

  • Gianluigi Crimi (lead developer)
  • Nicola Vanella (developer, webmaster)
  • Enrico Schileo (lead expert)
  • Susanna Paletti (expert)
  • Andrea Roncari (expert)
  • Sabina Piroddi (expert)
  • Cristina Falcinelli (expert, now Post-doc at Sunnybrook Research Institute, Toronto, Canada)
  • Martino Pani (technical advisor, now Lecturer at University of Portsmouth, UK)
  • Antonino Zucco (webmaster)

Bonemat v3.2 saw the precious collaboration of Elise Pegg (University of Bath), who developed the code to permit import/export of FE meshes from and to Abaqus.

We are very open to collaboration. Visit the Collaboration page.

We would like to acknowledge all other people that contributed to the development of Bonemat in the past. Among them, we'd like to particularly acknowledge Marco Viceconti, who conceived the first Bonemat algorithm and encouraged the development of the software in the past years.

Bonemat v3.2 was developed thanks to the financial support of the "5x1000" Italian donation program, Year 2013
